Application

Remove 1 to 2 knuckles full from can and emulsify in palms. Spread evenly across hands until fully covered. Apply to towel-dried or dry hair starting at the crown and working toward the front. Work from scalp to ends and liberally cover hair. Finish by combing hair into desired shape. Apply more if necessary.

Tip

The perfect cocktail for maximum hold, apply Extreme Hold Matte Pomade to damp hair at the roots and pull Pink Grease through the ends of hair once hair is dry. Overall, our strongest combo that will stand up to anything!

Extreme Hold Matte has Reuzel's signature sugary rum and vanilla scent, the same fragrance found across the Red and Concrete tins. Key ingredients include beeswax which helps moisturize and tame frizz by forming a humidity-resistant barrier, keeping hair smooth and in place, and castor oil - fatty acids penetrate the hair strand, nourishing and strengthening it.

Does Reuzel Extreme Hold Matte wash out easily?

Yes. Extreme Hold Matte is water-soluble and rinses out cleanly with regular shampoo, despite its industrial-strength hold. Like all of Reuzel's water-based and hybrid pomades (Grey, Navy, White, Blue, Red), it requires no degreasing routine — standard daily shampoo removes it fully. Occasional use of a clarifying or scrub shampoo is recommended. This is one of the major advantages over oil-based maximum-hold styling waxes, which typically demand a multi-step degrease. Extreme Hold delivers the strongest hold in the line while remaining easy to wash out daily.

How do you apply Reuzel Extreme Hold Matte Pomade?

Scoop one to two knuckles of product, emulsify between your palms until fully spread, then apply to dry or slightly damp hair starting at the crown and working forward. Work scalp to ends, coating hair liberally, then comb into your desired shape. Apply more over any dry spots. Avoid wet hair unless you want diluted hold. Use less than you think, you can always apply more — 10/10 hold means a small amount provides serious control, and overuse can leave hair feeling crunchy.

Extreme Hold Matte performs best on medium-to-coarse hair that needs sculptural, all-day hold without shine. The 10/10 rating delivers maximum control on thick, dense, or unruly hair, and works well for high-volume styles like big pompadours, tall quiffs, and structured side parts.
